A Busy 12 Months of Knitting
Poppies for our entrance display and
these, which were knitted for the
Mayor’s poppy appeal in town.
Over three hundred Christmas angels – gifts for people who’ll pass our church
during December. These charming
ones were recently knitted by Ann who
comes to the Monday Sewcial.
Traffic light hats for premature babies
born at Doncaster and Bassetlaw
Special Care Baby Unit. We are waiting
to hear if the LGI would also like some.
There are also the many hats and mittens knitted by June and others for the Shoebox Appeal – see the Shoebox article in this month’s magazine. It’s wonderful to reflect on all of the hard work that’s gone into these creations, on the skills that God has given us to enable us to make them and to consider those hundreds of people who will be touched by receiving something made and gifted by someone they don’t know.
Thank you to all those who have contributed in any way over the last twelve months.
Looking ahead, Elizabeth Green, a friend from the Monday Sewcial, has kindly given us a number of yellow chicks, beautifully knitted by her cousin and it has been suggested that these could be delivered locally at Easter with the chocolate eggs in them. For anyone who’d like to knit one, the pattern will be in the January magazine. In the meantime, please look out for yellow baby double knitting wool in charity shops etc.
